"Oh, well that explains it." Balthazar looked some more at the nails, and then at Simone. "Oh, no, I've always had good nails. Just a regular groom and they look perfect. I'm sure though, you make your mother a happy woman anyway, good nails or no."

"I'm sure I do, especially since I got out of my goth phase. I am sure that if I had kept that up she surely would have had an aneurysm." She closed the cap of the nail polish. "Not that I blame her, I'm not exactly a fashionista as it is, but I had no sense of style during that period. Awkward teen memories for the win huh?"

Baz looked down at his clothes. He wasn't really aiming for goth, but some would say that was what his "style" was. "What's wrong with that?" He asked with a little smirk. "Yes, awkward teen memories for the win, as long as it's not mine." The phrase 'win', sounded quite wrong when he said it.

"Don't worry, you're pulling it off way better than I did." She reached for her glass now that her hands were free, raising it to her mouth to drink. "I have a really hard time imagining you as a teenager to be honest."

"Oh, really? It was that bad, huh?" Baz pulled up his legs and sat down with crossed legs watching Simone drink. "Yes, please, don't try."

"Sounds like your teen years might have been as bad!" Simone laughed, but then took on a serious face. "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is the deal with Leo? I mean, there was some pretty obvious friction between the two of you last time. What happened?" After a few glasses of wine she was finally relaxed enough to ask, although she had wondered before. From the looks of it they had a pretty bad break up. "If I'm snooping around where I shouldn't, just tell me to butt out."

Balthazar looked down at his hands, a bit in shame. "Yeah, I'm sorry you had to see that, I don't know what got into me. Well, no, I do actually. His bad attitude finally got to me." He glanced up at Simone now and then to see her reaction, and waited a bit before continuing. "Perhaps I might have over reacted a bit though." He hadn't really dared to even think that to himself, and now he was telling it to Simone.

"I suppose the people we care about have a way to get under our skin." She said with a nod. "It did sort of seem like you didn't part on the best of terms."

Baz nodded. "They have. And having been on tour with him, did not make it better. It's not as pleasant and fun as it might seem." He smirked. "You picked up on that, huh?"

"You weren't exactly working to keep it a secret." Simone pointed out before taking another sip from her wine. "It must have been good at some point, why would you otherwise have ended up together?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that." At first he thought she meant how they ended up in aan together, so he answered: "Oh, no, we'd never toured together before aan." But then he wrinkled his forehead, as that didn't make much sense, and let his confused look ask what she meant.

"Obviously not, I used to be a fan after all, so I know that much." He must have misunderstood what she was saying. "But was it really always bad?"

"Then what did you mean?" He laughed confused. "No, of course not. Just... It wasn't all happy days and party all night long all the time. Or well..." He rolled his eyes and chuckled slightly.

"Come on, it's pretty obvious you still care for him. Or you wouldn't have gotten so upset so easily." She pointed this out with a light nudge against his knee. "It's probably the biggest show of emotion I've gotten from you."

"Of course I do. I love him. But I also hate him." He nudged back against her knee without anything to follow that really, but he said: "Well that emotion is nothing I'd like to show again."
