Planning on having Balthazar over for a movie night at her place (with room for pampering of course), Simone had just stepped out of the shower, figuring it was just decent to be more or less clean before he came over when she had officially invited him.
She had gotten them some wine, some cheese and some crackers already, since her guest had said that he would eat before showing up. Now she had about ten minutes to get dressed - more than enough since they were staying in and there was no real reason to dress up or even put on make up. She sincerely doubted Balthazar would mind and it really took the pressure off. To be honest it was nice to have a male friend with whom she could relax.

Balthazar had tried hard not to laugh when Simone had suggested a girls night in, thinking she was kidding, but he did not of course as he saw that she was quite serious, and after some consideration he actually thought it could be quite fun. He had put on some casual, relaxed clothes, thinking it would be most comfortable as they would only be sitting in, and had headed out to eat before, and had now gotten some proper color that would pass as human in a close inspection.
He went to Simone's apartment and knocked on the door. She had said she would fix everything for the night, and so he came empty handed

Simone had just managed to put on clothes as there was a knock on the door and she just rubbed through her hair with a towel one last time before going to open the door and Baz was met by a smiling face. "Hey, you're here already, I just assumed you would be fashionably late." She pulled her hand through the still wet hair and stepped to the side. "Apart from the hair I'm pretty much done though, come in."

Balthazar pointed with his thumb over his shoulder. "I... Can go and come back later?" He gave her a big smile and a little hug before walking past her and into the apartment. He took of his jacket and hung it up neatly in the hallway, and but his boots just under. His comfy clothes was just a pair of black worn jeans and a thin knitted black shirt.

"You can sit down on the bed, I'll go get the wine." Simone figured her hair could be wet and went to the very tiny kitchen area of her one room home. "I figured we'd see Apocalyto, have you seen it?"

"Ok, thanks" Baz sat down on the bed, leaning against the wall, crossing his legs, and looked around. On the table he saw a movie that he picked up and started to read about as Simone spoke. "No, I haven't. You know how much I watch TV."

"It's awesome, and completely in it's original language." She put down the two glasses on the tiny coffee table in front of him, followed up by the wine bottle. "I have a a few other movies though, if you rather see something else."

He kept reading and then put down the movie and looked at Simone. "No, no, I'm trusting you when you say it is awesome. Are there subtitles, or are you just gonna guess what they are saying?" He took up the bottle of wine and poured some into the glasses.

"There are subtitles and not too much dialogue, so you will be fine." Leaving to the other end of the room and soon coming back with a plate of cheese, Simone smiled at him and took the dvd case from him. "I'm putting it on, you'll love it."

"Great!" Balthazar put his feet under him and pushed himself further in on the bed, leaning his back against the wall. "I'm sure I will. And shall I guess the Mayas is one of your favorites?" The choice of movie would have seem strange, Baz thought, if one did not know Simone majored in history.

"They're cool, although the Aztecs are even cooler." Simone answered as she put in the movie in the player. "Being a vampire fan, I'm assuming you're okay with blood."

Baz made a gesture with his hands, and gave Simone a big smile. "I'm totally fine with that, bring it on." He settled down, hos legs stretched out in front of him at first, but when he realized he had too long legs for that to be comfortable, he but them up a but.

Simone sat down next to Balthazar before hitting play, and the next two hours that followed consisted of Simone slowly drinking wine without noticing Balthazar wasn't really drinking his, telling him strange facts sort of like "Did you know that the amount of human sacrifices committed by the Aztecs has been estimated at about twenty thousand a year?" while, simultaneously, watching the movie and in the end performing a French manicure on Balthazar's nails - since he hadn't objected.
Once the movie was done she without looking up from his nails, asked him "So what did you think?"

Balthazar sat watching the movie, noticing Simone drinking the wine, and he was thankful she was so in the movie that she did not notice him not drinking. He listened to her little facts with sincere interest and when she took his hand and started to do a French manicure on his nails, he did not protest, still intensely watching the movie, looking down at what she was doing now and then. As the credits started to roll he held up his hands to take a look at his nails. He smiled at Simone and nodded. "It's great. I wouldn't have guessed you were this good at manicure." He meant that as a compliment.

"My mother is a very girly girl." She said with a shrug. "And I'm a attentive student. You must almost be getting these reguarly though, your nails are next to perfect. If I kept as good care of myself as you do, my mom would be one happy woman."
