She did? She supposed that sounded plausible. "Yea, I thinkI got a bit sick from sitting in the park. Suppose I should have worn a scarf or something." Simone paused slightly. "I hope I didn't infect you."

He looked out the window, and saw it pouring outside. "Yeah. I guess that is plausible." Balthazar smiled for himself, feeling his fang with his tongue. "Don't you worry about me, I can't remember the last time I were sick."

"I hope not, I've been feeling pretty faint all day. Was probably for the best that I went home early." She took a sip of her coffee, sitting up properly soon after. "How are you?"

"I hope you could go to school, anyway. I wouldn't wan't to be responsible for you missing school. Or getting sick!" Again, he smiled for himself, and laid his legs over the armrest of the chair. "I'm good." He answered in the short Balthazar-way.

"It's okay. It seems I didn't miss that much and it was hardly your fault." Smiling to herself, she hummed slightly. "Good huh? That's great."

"I should have been a gentleman, and lent you my coat, or something." Or not just sucked your neck, he thought for himself, but that he would never regret. He went silent a while, before he spoke again. "I guess you'll be wanting your rest then." He smiled at the phone.

"I only have myself to blame. I should have gone for the warm jacket rather than the cute one." One day she would crack the code to talking to him. "It's fine. Was there a reason you called?"

"I just wanted to hear that you were alright. That you hadn't passed out, banging your head against the corner of your table or something gruesome like that. You didn't, did you?" He said that last part jokingly.

"I don't think so, but then again, if I did, I might have suffered memory loss from the blow to the head, right?" She was no more serious than he was.

"Yeah, but I think you might have noticed the massive hole in you head, anyway." He laughed a bit, and got all excited at the thought of it. A cracked skull was most likely followed by a huge amount of blood. But he did not wish the pain on Simone.

"Not necessarily. I haven't really felt the back of my head since I woke up..." She paused in a moment of pretend thought. "And haven't we all had those times when one suddenly notice that you managed to hurt yourself without noticing and smeared the resulting blood all over one's new white shirt?"

'No' Balthazar thought for himself. He would definitely notice it. But he answered Simone: "Yeah, true. But then again, I have a really good smell, remember?"

Simone couldn't help to laugh. "Now you're just being creepy. But I suppose it fits the sex, blood and rock 'n' roll image you are trying to revive." A real pause to think this time. "I bet you were a really unsettling child."

"Trying? I'm always sex, blood and rock 'n' roll. Creepy just comes with that package." He smirked at the phone, and you could easy hear he was joking, although, in a sense, he was not. At her question he wrinkled his forehead. "What do you mean?"

"I believe that you think you are." She said in a teasing manner. "Well, you know, quiet, strange, I can try for hours and not get a sentence longer than three words from you and then suddenly once one gives up you will say something really elaborate that creeps everyone out. If you were the same before you grew up it must have been... At the level of the shining-twins."
