"What are you doing?" Isola became somewhat disgusted when she saw what was Balthazar, but a bit fascinated. That he dared to do it, he didn't know what diseases she might have. Most people wouldn't even stand next to a homeless person because they thought all homeless persons were full of diseases and what not.

"Yuk. Yeah, I wonder that myself. Reflex I guess." He wiped of the remaining blood and saliva on his coat, looking at Isola with an excusing look.

"What strange reflexes you must have then if that is one of them.. ?" She glanced at him with a meaning glance as he wiped his thumb on his coat. Why was he so nice? Men didn't use to be nice unless they wanted something, but he didn't seem interested of her in that way and it made her a bit confused. Not that all men were like that, just most of them she had met.

"Yeah, perhaps so. Or perhaps it is you that have lame reflexes." Balthazar smiled at her. He could sense that she was confused, and without reading her mind, he guessed why. And he did not blame her.

Isola rolled her eyes. "Yeah, just because I don't lick blood from other people faces my reflexes are lame?" She gazed out towards the empty street in front of them and wondered how long it was left to the hotel. She really wanted to have some paper to wipe off the blood from her face, Balthazar maybe thought it was tasty with blood but Isola was beginning to get sick of the metallic taste that was all over her mouth. She licked her lips and stuck out her bloody tongue to Balthazar and joked. "Want some?"

"No, because you don't have the reflex to keep clean." he joked. When she offered him her bloody tongue, of course he wanted it, but thought it might screw with his human disguise. "No thanks" he said and frowned.

She put her tongue back in her mouth and smiled a tiny smile. "Is it far to the hotel?"

"No, it's just a few blocks away, but perhaps we can find a hotel nearer if you want to."

"No, it´s okay, I'm just longing for a shower. Or a long bath." Isola looked dreamy in front of her and could almost feel the the waterjets on her body. And a warm, clean bed to sleep in, she could die happy just thinking of it.

"And you said you didn't wanted the money." Balthazar smirked at Isola, but happy for her. "May I ask you a, perhaps, personal question?"

"Sure, you ask away!" Isola made big gestures with her hands and wondered what was so personal.

"Why are you homeless?" She didn't seem like any "normal" homeless person, so there had to be some special reason, he thought. Perhaps it was her choice. Balthazar had always lived in luxury, so he couldn't imagine living on the streets.

Balthazar question did Isola slightly speechless, it was a long time ago since she had really thought about that night, her family covered in blood and flames in a burning carwreck. "My family's dead and I have nowhere else to go, I am alone in the world" she replied and felt close to tears but clenched and squeezed back the tears, with her eyes still on the street ahead.

He noticed her tears in the corner of her eyes. "Hey, don't cry..." Balthazar thought it crazy that a young girl like that should end up on the street "just because" she lost her parents. "Isn't there some kind of social support system? Or something?"

"Yeah, probably. But it is quite difficult to get something like that when you are registered as dead, don't have an ID and considered crazy .." Isola looked meaningly at Balthazar, blushed and smiled in embarrassment.
