[Balthazar]

"No, I have always been a loner, and would like it to stay that way."
It might have sounded harch, but he just stated facts. He had nothing against it, or Li Mei, just as long as his unlife didn't change drastically.
He nodded slowly as Li Mei told him how she recognized him, and remembered those times. he alsao remembered how furious James had been when Balthazar had refused to play the violin. He smirked at the thought, and then asked:
"William?"

[Li Mei]

"It is quite understandable, I myself am also a loner."
When Balthazar asked who William was she fell silent and the smile on her lips faded away.
Li Mei turned down her eyes to the drink and with one hand she wiped away the drops that gets on the glass when the drink is cold and cause condensation on the outside of the glass.
She didn't really like to talk about it, it was not acceptable to kill another vampire, let alone ones maker and if anyone found out she would be punished..
"My creator, but he's dead now .."
But Li Mei couldn't help but smile every time she thought back on how she got rid of him, how unprepared William had been on her actions.
She turned her gaze back to Balthazar and said quietly with a smirk on her lips.
"James made excellent choice. You're even more handsome as a vampire."

[Balthazar]

Balthazar could sense that that was nothing Li Mei wanted to talk about. So even though her smile as she thought about it made him uneasy, Balthazar did not press on.
He smiled slightly at her accent, and answered:
"Well, I guess that's the case for every vampire. It's just one of those vampire things. I guess you are more beautiful now, than when you were human."

[Li Mei]

"Perhaps.."
Li Mei smiled girlishly to Balthazar.
Of course all vampires had an aura of beauty around them, it was part of their allure.
But there was a difference between an ordinary vampire and a beautiful vampire, Balthazar and herself were the latter.
Her body was almost screaming for blood and Li Mei excused herself, told him that she had to feed and went after a young man who went outside.

The hunger in her that he had sensed before got stronger so he was not surprised when she finally decided to go and get something to drink. He nodded at her and watched as she left the bar after what he assumed was her dinner for tonight.

[Li Mei]

The young man barely had time to react before Li Mei dragged him into an nearby alley.
She drank enough to satisfy her hunger for a little while, but not enough to kill him.
Li Mei didn't want to create a commotion over a dead body right now and also so she had got more respect for humans lately.
After all, she had been one a long time ago..
When she finished, she left the man with his wounds healed, leaning against a brick wall and went into the bar again and sat down next to Balthazar.
"Tell me more about this Angels at Night? It sounds interesting.."
Li Mei smirked.

When Li Mei again entered the bar, Balthazar noticed the blood that now made her look just a little bit more human, and he could also smell it faintly, but it quickly went away to make way for all the real humans and their blood.
He leaned back in the chair a bit, crossing his legs.
"It's not really. We were just one of those rock bands that happens to get famous. But not famous enough for you to have heard of us I see,"

[Li Mei]

"No, no .. I mean a vampire who becomes a celebrity, a public figure.
And by the way, I have been abroad for a long time .. That's probably why I haven't heard the band."
Li Mei smiled politely at Balthazar and took another sip of her drink.
She had missed so much of what had happened in the past century, but she could not know everything that happened around the world.

[Balthazar]

He smiled slightly.
"That's just like a human getting famous, isn't it?"
It probably wasn't though. Most vampires did not want to go into the limelight. Out of respect for the other vampires he guessed. But he hadn't that much respect for them. He didn't really dislike them, he just hadn't had much contact with them. He had stuck with the humans.

[Li Mei]

"No, a vampire going public is far more.. dangerous."
Li Mei paused to try to figure out the last word.
"If the public found out about us, that we really exist, we'd be in a lot of.. trouble.
And rightly so, especially considering what we feed on."
She pointed out, looking down at her drink and then back at Balthazar again, still smiling.

[Balthazar]

"I guess I live dangerously then. A real bad boy I am."
He smirked at the thought of him as a bad boy. But in a way I guess you could say that he was. If you were a human that is.

[Li Mei]

Li Mei raised an eyebrow at what Balthazar said.
"Yeah, you're a regular badass, aren't you?"
She replied smirking, leaning forward on the table and looked him in the eyes.
It seemed more flirtatious than intended.

[Balthazar]

Balthazar chuckled.
"Yeah, wow, I really am."
He just assumed she would get his sarcastic tone, because he so was not, in his mind anyway. But then again some might think killing humans was quite bad ass. Although not in a good way.
He saw that she looked at him, and he looked back for some seconds, but then he looked at the liquid in front of him and took a fake sip. He was not that comfortable.

[Li Mei]

Li Mei noticed that Balthazar avoided eye contact with her and she sensed that he wasn't very comfortable with the company in front of him, Li Mei leaned back in her chair and with a kind smile on her lips, said:
"I'm sorry if I made you feel awkward, I was just kidding with you."

[Balthazar]

"Yeah, I know, it's cool."
He stared down his glass before suddenly standing up, feeling both tired of sitting down, restless, and hungry.
"I think I need to 'prowl on'."
Balthazar looked around, not at all happy with the people in it, and then turned to Li Mei again.
"You coming with?"
