A blonde guy, dressed in military style clothing, was sitting in the back of the bus, sunglasses on even though it was dark out. He was resting his head against the window, which should have had rain pouring down on it, but didn't since this isn't some soppy romantic teen book. If you came closer you could see that the reason for him wearing sunglasses in a bus in the evening was that tears was streaming down his face. If you came even closer, was really good at faces and had been a fan of Angels at Night you might even had recognized him as Ice, the drummer of the band.
Ice was having a really bad day. First, Nick had kicked him out of the apartment, telling him not to come back until he met and talked to Balthazar. So he did that, taking like five buses to get there, and it was totally awkward. And then Baz got all weird when he wanted to leave so Ice said some things he regretted and left the place running, leaving a broken relationship behind. Taking the cowards way out. This all had been like ten minutes ago, and he couldn't stop crying. Like a baby. Gods, how he hated himself.

Simone was on her way home, although not crying, she probably might have had she been alone. She hadn't cried much actually, but mostly because she was so freaked out every time she did.
Wasn't hard to tell that the guy not far from her was crying, he must have thought those sunglasses would hide it better than they did and for obvious reasons she couldn't help but to feel for him. Took her quite some time to do something about it though, no one wants to be the creepy person that talks to a stranger on the bus.
Finally, she ended up turning to him (as they weren't sitting to far away from each other), give him an as encouraging smile as she could possibly muster and ask "Are you okay?"

Ice started as someone suddenly was talking to him. "W-what? Uhm, Y-yeah, I-I'm fine." he said, quickly wiping the tears of his face. It was really awkward to do with the glasses on, so he took them off to really get it all. He sat up straight and smiled shyly at the woman who'd spoken to him. He considered putting the glasses back on, but that'd be even more awkward. "Th-thanks, though."

Simone who wasn't absolutely great with faces, especially not faces where the hair had changed color, decided there was something very familiar with him, but just continued smiling none the less. "Are you sure? You look like you could need some company." If he argued, she wouldn't push it, she wasn't going to be that creep on the bus at least. Although she really should have learnt to stay far away from anyone that looked "familiar", since that was how everything had started with Balthazar.

"Uhm, I-I'm..." Ice began to say that of course he was sure, but then he decided that he'd failed so miserable with his new, more social persona with Baz, he might as well try some more with this stranger. Strangers are easier anyway. "Y-you know wh-what? I-I act-actually think comp-pany might be good f-for me now." His newfound determination was mirrored on his face and he actually looked her in the eye.

He got another smile in return as she moved to sit next to him. No need to shout from the other side of the bus. "So where are you heading?" The stuttering was sort of adorable actually, although she couldn't say she had met many grown-ups with a stutter.

"I-I was h-heading home, but n-now I'm thinking m-maybe a p-pub?" Ice answered. If they just rode this bus for another ten minutes and walked a bit, they'd come to the bar where he worked.

"Did you have that rough an evening?" Simone asked with sympathy in her voice. She mostly wanted to go home, get into bed and never get up again, but everybody handles feeling horrible differently. Stopping to open her bag and dig around a bit, she found herself a paper napkin and held it up to him. She always got a terribly runny nose when she had been crying. "I didn't catch your name?"

"Y-yeah, it was p-pretty bad." Ice answered. He'd had enough of lying at home, feeling sorry for himself. "Thanks," he said and gratefully accepted the napkin. He dried his face and nose with it and smiled shyly at her. "I f-feel so gr-gross." He grimased and then extended his hand, the hand he hadn't used for wiping his nose. "M-my name is I-Ice."

"Don't worry about it, we've all cried on the bus at some point." Simone's smile disappeared as he introduced himself. Of course, how could she not see it. Had she believed in fate, she would begin to wonder if her fate was just intervened with Balthazar and his damn band. "I'm hoping it's a nickname." She answered instead, trying to pretend like she didn't know who he was now.

Ice gave her a confused look. Why did his name give her that reaction? He'd gotten some strange looks before because of it, but never one that said that it gave them unpleasant recollections. "Y-yeah, i-it is." He answered, pretending as well that she hadn't reacted weirdly. He'd thought about not using Ice as his name any more, but it felt like his real name. His badge at the pub had his real name, so it usually wasn't any problem with people recognizing him.

"Otherwise I imagine you would have had some very odd parents." She said, getting out the smile again. It was fine really, he had no way of telling who she was. As far as she knew he didn't have any contact with the others anymore anyway. "It's just my opinion though, but I don't think going to the bar will make the evening any better, alcohol always seems to worsen things in my experience." Of course, maybe he wasn't as big as a nut job as the others, after all, he didn't hang out with them anymore, obviously.

Ice smiled sheepisly at her. He couldn't think of anthing to say. "M-maybe y-you're right. A-all I know is th-that I d-don't want to s-shut myself in and f-feel sorry for m-myself any m-more."

"Talking to a stranger on the bus doesn't seem like shutting yourself in to me." She said in a try to cheer him up. He didn't know her, it was harmless really. Although she was a bit afraid that she had subconsciously started talking to him because she did know who he was and that was stalker behavior.

"I-It's all a-a part of m-my tw-twelve step program." He answered, smiling at her. Wow, first talking to a stranger, then joking with her? He was really getting good at this, this whole not being socially crippled.
