"I suppose all you have left then is helping someone else talk to a stranger on a bus and you will be cured." She said with a small smile. "You can't sponsor me though, seems I already took care of that one on my own."

"D-damn, n-now I'll have t-to find someone else t-to sp-sponsor." He said, faking disappointment. "Y-you don't happen t-to know anyone wh-who needs my help, d-do you?"

Simone shrugged and hold out her palms in a gesture to show that she had nothing. "Sorry, no luck here. But if you ask the next person that steps on this bus they might be willing to help?"

"Don't worry, I won't tell. If anyone asks, you started talking to me." She was about to pat him lightly on the shoulder, but stopped herself. Technically, they didn't know each other, even if she wanted to make him feel better.

"T-thanks. B-by the way, I d-didn't catch your n-name?" He sort of asked, even though it wasn't technicly a question.

Yes, that was by design. She didn't want him to know her name, she didn't want anyone, anywhere, to make a connection that made her have to talk about everything she didn't want to talk about. "I'm... Sarah." Simone wanted to beat herself and take it back the second she said it. Sure, Sarah was on her mind, but that was because she didn't like her, not because she had such a pretty name. "I suppose I should have told you my name when I asked for yours, huh? Maybe I do need a sponsor."

"N-nah, I think y-you're doing fine." Ice answered with a smile. "N-nice meeting you, S-Sarah." See, things didn't have to be as hard as he made them. Funny thing, too, that it was way easier talking to this stranger than with Baz, whom he'd known for so long. Or maybe it was because he'd known him for so long. Yeah, that probably was it.

"It's nice meeting you too." Sarah. Great. Sometimes she cursed the way her mind worked. "If you don't mind me asking, what rained on your parade?"

Ice looked down and pulled his knees up to his chest, in that familiar safety gesture he always made. But at least now a days his hair didn't fall down to cover his face. "I-it, uhm... I-I w-went to s-see a f-f-friend I h-hadn't seen in a-a wh-while." he stammered, his stutter as always getting worse with his mood. "I-it d-didn't go v-very well." He made an ironic grimace at his knees and tried to dismember a pouch on the trousers. "I-I s-said some th-things I didn't m-mean t-to say, a-and it went f-from b-bad to worse. H-he still h-hasn't for-forgiven me." By now his voice was a mere murmur coming from the direction of his shins, as he'd kept lowering his head while he spoke.

Balthazar really seemed to surround himself with strange people. Leo had the mental maturity of a 12-year old and this guy, although not seeming quite as frustrating to be around, almost seemed to act like a child. A child in military clothing. It was a very strange sight. She didn't like what it said about her though.
"I'm sorry to hear that." She was starting to wonder if this was a sick joke, or if she was reading too much into what he said and about whom. "I don't know the situation, but maybe you just need to sit down and talk things through?"

"That, uhm, that's r-really n-not my f-forte." he told his knees. "Th-thanks f-for listening t-to me wh-whine, th-though. N-not m-many people w-would." He glanced up at her and gave her a tentative smile. Then his eyes wandered over to the display and he unfurled. "I-I've m-missed my s-stop!" he said, in a slightly panicky voice. Then he took a breath and mentally told himself to calm down. He pulled the string to make the bus stop at the next station and smiled at Sarah again. "I-I've got t-to g-go, but it w-was really n-nice to meet y-you."

"Same to you, Ice. I hope you feel better." And that Balthazar wasn't too big of an asshole, if that was indeed who he was talking about.

Ice gave a small wave and hopped off the bus. He'd just have to take a cab home.
