"This isn't funny Balthazar." That was all she said on the matter.

"Oh, it can be." There was no trace of a joke on his face. He had killed just for the fun of it. It was a long time ago now though. "I've killed, and I've loved it." He said through clenched teeth, and got just a bit closer to Simone. He had always thought it to be because he was a vampire, but he couldn't imagine Simone kill anyone, so now he was having doubts.

"I think it would be best if you leave now." He was making her very uncomfortable.

"Oh, you can't handle the truth?" He made no effort to move.

"I have no intention of trying. I want you to leave." Was that a hint of fear? She knew it wasn't healthy to be afraid of your own boyfriend, that much was sure.

He hadn't really thought she would be happy about hearing her boyfriend was a killer, but he had thought he would get some more of a reaction out of her than this. "Have you nothing to say?" He wrinkled his forehead, still not moving.

"What do you want me to say? That you're sick?" She reminded herself that she was a vampire too, and that had to mean something in terms of strength. "Because you are. That girl had a family and friends. A life. And that you don't care means your are sick and I don't want to know anymore." He didn't have to tell her, putting one and one together was sufficient enough.

He hadn't planned on telling her that he had killed that girl the first time they met. But he guessed she figured it out. That she was telling him she thought he was sick hurt him. But what did he expect? He didn't really know what he could say about that girl, that wouldn't make him sound even sicker. "After two hundred years, you just don't really care anymore." And there, he had told her his true age too.

"The bigger reason for you to leave, because I still care a lot." It finally occurred to her that she should create a distance between them, or well, as much as it was possible in her tiny apartment. "I don't get it, why do you even hate Sarah if you're the same? Is it some sort of battle of ownership? Sounds to me like you two should shack it up and leave me out of it."

If he left, would she ever want him to return? "I still care about you, Simone." He watched, stood still, as Simone walked away from him. Was she scared of him? Balthazar thought about what Simone had said a while before answering. "You have seen how crazy she is. She made Leo, and now you. I want nothing to do with her."

"She just did it because she has a crush on you, it's so obvious. That was her reason, what was yours, boredom?" Coming to a very uncomfortable realization, she continued. "It could have as easily been me you killed, have you thought of that? I was there, you didn't know me, I could be dead now." It was a strange sensation, thinking about your own mortality in such a sense, even if one was technically immortal.

"That's just crazy. And I don't need any reason." Perhaps not the right thing to say. "And yes, it could have been you. But it wasn't!" He went over to Simone.

"Do you not realize how sick it is that you can stand there and say that you could have killed me without as much as a flinch?" Simone didn't seem to want him to walk up to her, as she kept moving in the room to avoid it.

Balthazar stopped when he notice her just walking further away, and made an exasperated gesture with his arms. "I realize that, but it's the truth. I could have killed you, but I didn't. I didn't!" That last part he said through clenched teeth.

"But you could have." Since he didn't seem to plan to leave, she took her chance to bolt out the door and leave instead.
