Balthazar had gotten up to go over to the bar, but stopped when Ice asked for tea and headed towards the kitchen instead. "I'm sorry, I don't think I have tea. Simone mostly drank coffee." He noticed what he had said, as soon as he had said it, but decided to ignore it. He didn't say it at all. Opening a cupboard, he could confirm that he didn't have any tea. "Yup, no tea. There's some coffee left though."

Ice sharpened his ears at the mention of 'Simone', but good manners and a good deal of shyness kept his mouth shut. If Bazz wanted to talk about it, he would talk about it. "N-no, I'm good. M-maybe some w-water?" He felt really awkward just sitting there, so he finally decided to do something about it and fought himself up on his feet. Then he padded over to Bazz in the kitchen. "Uhm... W.who's Simone?" It slipped out before he could stop it.

"Okey, one water coming up." He took out a large glass, poured Ice some water, and put it on the kitchen island in front of Ice as he had went up to Baz. Now it was his turn to look at his oh so interesting toes, but just for a second. "She's my... Or, she was, my girlfriend." So he had noticed. Oh well, no coming back now.

Ice took a small sip of the water and had to stop himself from choking on it as Bazz revealed who Simone was. He gingerly placed the water back on the table surface and glanced up at Bazz from under his bangs. He knew full well that his face was practically on fire, but he chose to ignore it. This is the moment he'd been training for. Of course Bazz would've had someone special. Or several. You don't live several hundred years and the last couple of them as a rock star, being all celebate. But then again, a girlfriend? First of, wasn't he gay? And secondly, back in the day Bazz had been more of a 'love 'em and leave 'em' kind of guy. Ice did his best not to feel betrayed. And why should he. There hadn't been anything between them, especially not on Balthazars side. Ice had nurtured some kind of idolizing love for him, probably because he was a male vampire, so he'd been feeling safe from any kind of retribution of feeling. Especially since he tried to hide it. Not really very good though. There was another reason for being safe from Balthazar - the guy was totally clueless. But he was over all that now. Right? So he shouldn't feel anything over the fact that Bazz had managed to find himself a girlfriend. And lose her. Probably recently. Ice suddenly became aware that he'd been staring in silence for some time at his glass of water. "I'm s-sorry. H-.how, uhm, if-if you don't m-mind me asking, did y-you, uhm, br-break up?" he asked, avoiding Bazz' eyes. Baby steps.

Balthazar looked at Ice waiting for any kind of answer, almost trying to catch his eye, but could see he was occupied by his thoughts again and gave him some time. And then he finally said something. "We're only on a break." He said, almost just to ensure himself of that. "Have you find someone?" Being the best at ignoring things, Balthazar hadn't really been aware of the love from Ice. He kind of knew it somehow, but never acknowledged it. So he didn't really realize how insensitive that question might be.

Ice nodded, distracted by his own thoughts. "G-good." He'd been anticipating Balthazars next question, since that's the normal follow up question, but that didn't mean he had to like it. He had a hard time explaining to anyone, even himself, why he didn't feel the need to be with someone. At least not like that. Last time it nearly happened, with Jean, he'd felt so bad he'd been ready to kill himself. For a while he'd been certain that he was the reason the band broke up, what with his crazy crush on Bazz and with nearly making the nasty with Jean, while Leo was in love with her. He now knew that it was solely that, but still.. He felt pretty bad about everything, about how it all ended. "N-no. I'm, uhm, f-free as a-a bird." He smiled tentatively at Bazz and then, realizing how it might be misinterpreted, blushed and looked away. "I-I m-mean, I'm s-single a-and h-hap-happy about it." He just tangled himself in deeper and deeper. Shut up now Ice. He obediently shut up.

"Well good for you." He said just a bit bitter, with a little wave of the hand and leaning against the kitchen island. He hadn't really thought he had found someone. For some reason he couldn't really imagine him with anyone. "So where have you been all this time?"

Ice glanced up at Bazz' bitter tone. Wow, he really didn't take being dumped well. "I've b-been here, in L-london. I-I've actually g-gotten a j-job." he said proudly, smiling broadly at Batlhazar. "I-I'm a bar-bartender. An-and they l-let me and N-nick play on w-wednesdays and f-fridays."

Balthazar smiled too as Ice did so, and he was honestly happy for him. London was a big town, so it wasn't that strange that they hadn't seen each other. "So you still play?" He remembered hearing some about this Nick but not at all much, but thought it didn't really matter.

Ice nodded and smiled at Balthazar. Then he couldn't figure out what to say next. So he fiddled some with his glass of water, and then glanced at his wristwatch. He's been here nearly fifteen minutes now. "Uhm, I'd b-better go. It w-was nice seeing y-you." He said and shyly held out his hand for Bazz to shake.

"You're just going to leave like that?" Balthazar wrinkled his forehead, almost a bit angrily. He'd just show up out of nowhere and then leave. Bullshit. Wasn't going to happen.

Ice glanced at his hand, hanging awkwardly in the air, and slowly lowered it. "Uhm, I.. Y-yes?" he almost asked, looking uncertainly at Balthazar.

Balthazar ignored the hand. "No. No. Why would you just suddenly come here, and then go again after what... fifteen minutes?" He tried not to sound to angry, but he kind of was. Perhaps he actually needed to go, but that was just really bad planning.

Ice was looking around in what was starting to feel like real panic. He was trying to get better at confrontations, but this was too much, over nothing. What was the matter with Bazz? "Y-yeah, th-thats t-t-the, uhm, u-us-usual t-t-t-time t-to..." he stuttered, taking a small step back and leaning away from Bazz. "An-anyw-way, wh-what's it t-to you? I-it's not like y-you've t-tried to c-co-con-contact m-me!" He was starting to get angry too now, and straightened up, staring Balthazar in the face. "Y-you j-just allowed th-the band to de-desintigr-grate, d-doing noth-thing! You w-were supposed to be o-our leader!" he was nearly shouting now, leaning closer and closer to Bazz. Then he suddenly became aware of what he was doing and clamped his hand to his face, eyes open wide and backing away. His face was now in full tomato mode. "I-I'm s-sorry..." he said through his fingers and then whipped around, striding out of the apartment.

When Balthazar noticed Ice panicking and backing away, he stepped slowly towards him, not wanting him to lose it completely, and was just about to hug him, although it might not help at all, but quite the opposite. But then Ice's tone changed, and Baz backed away again, a bit confused. "So this is the reason you came here? To tell me it's all my fault?" When suddenly Ice was about to walk out of the apartment, Baz got to the door first, not really wanting be all frightening, but didn't wanted Ice to just run from it.
