The day after Leo had suggested they'd play live again, Baz went over to Jean's place, wasting no time. Who knew when Leo would chicken out again? He did hesitate outside her apartment though, not sure if this would be welcome or not, but finally went in and knocked on the door. It was midnight, so she'd probably be out for a drink or something, but he thought he'd try at her place before he'd call her.

Jean was home and even up, but didn't seem to much feel like coming to open the door. At least she seemed to hear it despite her loud music since Balthazar quite clearly could hear her yell "Darren, door!" when said entrance did not seem to open itself. As such, if he decided to wait for anyone to let him in Baz would have to wait a while, since the addressed roommate hadn't been home for the last hour or so. Not that the door was locked anyway.

Balthazar politely waited for Jean's room mate to open the door, but when that didn't seem to be happening in the near future, he checked if the door was open and then took the liberty to just go in. He could hear she was home after all. "Jean?"

It took a few moments for Jean to lean out of her bedroom door (head adorned with a messy hairdo and a cigarette sticking out in the corner of her mouth) to look first at Baz and then in at the apartment, presumably to conclude that Darren was in fact not home, taking the cig in between two fingers. "Did you get yourself dumped or something?" As usual the rest of the place looked almost decent, but both Balthazar's friend and the room where she slept could do with a good cleaning.

Balthazar didn't care for waiting for Jean to answer him again, so just walked over to her bedroom, just as she popped out. "Oh, hello Baz, how nice to see you." "Yes, it's nice to see you too, Jean." He faked their greetings, since he didn't much cared for Jean's real one, but of course, said it with love. "No, I have not gotten myself dumped." He poked Jean lightly on the shoulder. "So, how's everything? I notice you are not out drinking. Staying in tonight?"

"My better half needed herself some love." Drinking wasn't out of the question though, since both a bass in the middle of a tune up and a beer can or two seemed to be waiting where she had been sitting. It wasn't a lot of drinking at least. "Can't blame me for assuming, not like you come here for anything else than that girl." Returning to her spot she stuck her cigarette back in it's place and went back to work. "So what do you want?"

Balthazar looked over Jean's shoulder to the bass and the cans of beer. Of course. "Good, good, because that was kind of what I came here for. We're playing again, Leo and I. I'm just wondering if you'd like to join us. It's just a small gig. I bet your... better half wouldn't mind." Straight to the point. Almost.

"Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me." Jean didn't really look up from what she was doing or lower the music. "Is there any pay?" The instrument probably wouldn't mind, no. Her new band might though.

Just what he thought she'd say, but that did not put him down. "Not really." He said honestly, even though that probably lowered the chance of her saying yes. "But we could work something out." He did not like the idea of having to pay Jean to play with them, for one night, just for fun. But then again, he did not mind throwing money everywhere. And one could argue this was some kind of pr thing.

Jean seemed to think for a moment, but then gave a nod. "Sure, I'm in. Although I'm not fond of the idea of playing to a drum machine."

Balthazar looked surprised for a second. That was easy. He smiled at her. "I'm glad. I'm guessing the money made your mind up. So what do you want? If you know of a drummer that'd play with us, please, let me know, because I'm just as fond of the idea of a drum machine as you are."

"Can't say I want to advertise my past with you to everyone I know. Why not just hire some schmuck? Eat him after." Of course, if he did Jean would have more than a small problem with it.

"Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something?" He was sensing quite a bitter Jean this night. Not that it was unusual. "I might just do that then." He said, just to annoy her, but obviously joking, since he couldn't help smirking.

"I know it is hard for you to believe, but Angels at Night is not exactly considered True in all circles." Not to mention it had been one of those things that was really hard to shake and she had reached a point in her life where people knowing who she was creeped her the bloody hell out. "You get it won't be the same without Ice and with a crazy Leo anyway, right?" Unlike Leo's enthusiasm, Baz's wasn't exactly infectious.

Baz couldn't help but to smile when Jean commented on Angels at Night not being True. He did know they weren't really... "true", but that was nothing that'd ever bothered him. "Yeah, I know. I thought we might play as friends though, and not as former members of Angels at Night." Paying Jean to play with them ruined that a bit though, but if she needed the cash, that was understandable.
